Best Cuisines in South East Asia

South East Asia comprises some of the leading countries in Asia that includes the likes of Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Laos and Myanmar. While the countries are more famous on account of their recent economic success, securing them the epithet of ‘tiger economies’, the diversity of culture and lifestyle has also made their cuisines and food habits interesting. In fact, the best cuisines in South East Asia have become so popular that they have become an integral part of the menu of dishes offered by most of the leading hotels around the world.
Thai Basil is one of the various forms of popular cuisines in Thailand. The basil has small leaves, is sweeter than other form of basils and possesses purple stems and tastes licorice. Thai curry is a trendy cuisine used with various forms of curry paste such as yellow, green, red curry and panang beef. Thai Fried Rice is famously known as Khao Pad in Thailand and is made of jasmine rice and consists of meat, onions, egg and tomatoes with green onion and fried garlic mixed in.

Among the Malaysian cuisines, Pulut is glutinous rice that is served with coconut and brown sugar while Lontong is a creamy soup mixed with mee hun and ketiput. Naci Lemak is another of the best Malaysian foods that is rice cooked with coconut milk and served with nuts, cucumbers and chili paste. Nasi Barlauk is plain rice served with various dishes.

Bakmi Goreng is one of the best Indonesian cuisines served with chickens, eggs, beef or seafood with vegetables. Naci Pecel is rice that is served with cooked vegetables and peanut sauce. The Burmese cuisines moreover have a deep Chinese and Indian influence on ingredient involved and mode of preparation of dishes.
