South East Asia Climate

Countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Philippines and a good number of islands like Orchid, Hainan, and Christmas are an important part of South East Asia. The countries have been more in the news on account of the unprecedented economic development that the region has recorded in the last few years though the huge increase in the tourism traffic volumes has also contributed greatly to the stature of the region. An important reason for this has been the positive South East Asia climate that is mostly tropical.
Broadly the climate in most parts of South East Asia is tropical and hovers around 30 degrees Celsius. The humidity is high and rains occur now and then. Countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia usually come across wet and dry seasons only. And the high temperatures usually do not exceed 40 degrees Celsius while the average temperature during the winters is 25 degree. In certain parts of the region, including Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia haze from forest fires is frequently seen, especially during May to October. In Singapore, temperature hovers in the range of 31 degrees during the day and 26 degrees at night during most parts of the year except December and January when it goes down a bit.

In the highland cities of Tahura, Tambi, Kaliori, Bandung, Puncak and parts of Java and Sumatra temperature remain cool most parts of the year and people are seen wearing woolen clothes and jackets. In nearby Papua New Guinea however, snow covered peaks of Jayawijaya and Sudirman Mountains, temperature remains cold. In Vietnam, the southern part is hot and humid while north has chilly winters, dry and pleasant climates too. In Thailand, March to June is usually hot with temperatures touching as high as 40 degrees and more with July to October, it rains. November to February however, a lot of travelers visit Thailand as the climate is cool and some of the places record a very low temperatures going down to 5 degrees or less.

Climate in South East Asia has played an important part in the economic development of the region along with the greater tourist traffic to the region.
